If I Watch I Do Not Hear, and If I Listen I Do Not See

Video and audio installation, 2005

An installation about religion in contemporary art.

A miraculous little table can be seen in the video which, under certain conditions, answers questions by raising itself from the floor.

The observer can leave himself open to the Nidra Yoga experience – an ancient eastern meditation technique. This can be achieved by closing one’s eyes and following the instructions given by the voice.

When one steps into the installation, one must therefore decide on one or the other; otherwise both will be lost.
